Happy last Friday of May! Only a few more days to go. Thank you to those who attended our General Membership meeting via Zoom on Wednesday night. Most of the questions related to Collective Bargaining. See below for a recap of what we discussed.

Collective Bargaining Update

The bargaining teams (certified and classified) are hoping that the final bargaining sessions will take place next week and that we will reach tentative agreements for both bargaining units. Per AEA Ratification Procedures (see below), tentative agreements will be emailed to AEA members as soon as possible after reaching agreement. If tentative agreements are reached next week, we anticipate emailing the tentative agreements to members By June 11th and holding the ratification election June 12 and June 13. Prior to the vote, AEA will host a virtual general meeting to review the tentative agreement.

While this will be a very quick process, it is the only way we can have voting take place prior to the end of the school year.

Voting will take place at the AEA office from 9-7 on Wednesday, June 12 and Thursday, June 13.

In the event that only one bargaining unit reaches tentative agreement, the process will continue as outlined above.

In the event that neither bargaining unit reaches a tentative agreement, we will reevaluate the timeline for the election.
